A Better York is a coalition of five independent student organizations that are collaborating on a “vote yes” campaign. The five organizations are: OPIRG York, Regenesis Community and Sustainability Initiatives at York (Regenesis York), Affordable Housing Committee at York, World University Service of Canada (WUSC), and The York Outdoor Club. A Better York means fighting for a $15 minimum wage, protesting York's investment in weapons and fossil fuels, striving for more affordable housing, providing cheaper food to students, supporting more refugees, and creating a more sustainable campus through initiatives like the Free Store and the Borrowing Centre.
